Overton Cares is aware that there may be people in the village who would appreciate the gift of non-perishable groceries but who do not meet the criteria for traditional food banks. “Lockdown Larder” may be able to help. Please email or telephone 07547 094417 and let us know your name and phone number (mobile if possible). We will then contact you with a time for you to pop along. To respect social distancing, it will be a 15-minute appointment just for your household. This food has been bought with money donated by the Basingstoke Voluntary Action group.
Overton’s Lockdown Larder and Food Parcels
We would like to clarify the following:
Lockdown Larder cannot provide food parcels but if you feel you may qualify for the delivery of free food parcels this is the process: Contact the Citizens Advice Bureau in Basingstoke – 01264 723641 or www.basingstokeandtadleycab.org.uk or email clerical@basingstoke.cabnet.org.uk If the CAB agree that you do qualify for free food parcel delivery, please ask them to refer you to the Andover Food Bank not the Basingstoke Food Bank. This new process has been agreed between Overton Cares, the Basingstoke Voluntary Action group and both the Food Banks.

STREET VOLUNTEERS
We have organised a network of Street Volunteers who can coordinate requests for help from people on your street.
The table below should help clarify our role with regards to how Overton Cares differs from the NHS Volunteer Scheme.
